DESCRIPTION:

Only a nine iron from the Old Course at St. Andrews, the Dunvegan Hotel is a real golfer’s haven and is dedicated towards satisfying the every whim of those who travel to play Scotland’s finest golf courses. A warm welcome, friendly service and informal atmosphere is assured at this small, family-run hotel.

Acquired by Jack and Sheena Willoughby in 1994, the Dunvegan Hotel has been lovingly refurbished and now offers five guestrooms in the main hotel, each one en-suite and boasting superb facilities. Just across the road, above the famous Auchterlonie Golf Shop is the exquisite Auchterlonie Suite. Named after Willie Auchterlonie, the last Scot to win the British Open prior to Paul Lawrie in 1999, this suite consists of three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room and kitchen. Decorated to the highest standard, it is ideal for families or groups of up to six golfers.

A significant part of the Hotel’s personality can be experienced in the convivial Golfers Corner Lounge Bar, which offers a fine selection of beers and over 20 malt whiskies. Exuding a great golfing atmosphere, the bar is adorned with over forty historical prints, including those depicting all the Open winners at St. Andrews dating back to 1873. Superb cuisine in the form of juicy char-grilled steaks, seafood and other dishes can be enjoyed in the Claret Jug Restaurant, an informal, cosy dining room, while snacks are available in the bar.
